2014-2015 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty - January Update

Royal Greetings and Happy New Year!  We are excited to share the latest events we’ve had the opportunity to take part in since our last update.

We are super excited to share that we won 1st Place Youth in the Tomah Holiday Parade...all of our hard work creating our holiday float really paid off.  So, on December 3, we picked up the award at the Tomah Chamber of Commerce and even had our picture taken with Director, Tina Thompson.  When we finished there we went to Maurices and Nodji helped us pick out our business attire.  We have had so much fun wearing our new outfits and we thank the Festival for purchasing them for us.

On December 5, we went to the Senior Center to help serve juice and coffee for the Rotary Christmas Party.  It was really fun talking and mingling and everyone was in a very festive Christmas spirit!  We even got to wear our new outfits for the first time.   We also got to know Olivia’s cool Grandma too.  It was a very fun experience.

On December 5, we rode in the Sparta Holiday Parade.  Before it began we went to the Franklin Victorian Bed & Breakfast to socialize and stay warm.  We met other visiting royalty and Santa was there too!  We took pictures on their staircase with the other royalty.  The parade itself was fun, we had lots of lights on our float and it was fun to see all the other floats decorated for the holidays.  We stayed warm in our beautiful robes and when the parade was complete we watched them light the tree.  We had hot cocoa, popcorn and cookies too!

On December 6, we and our families went to Madison for the Holiday Event at the Governor’s Mansion.  All of the rooms in the mansion had a different theme like, the Twelve Days of Christmas and hand-made crochet ornaments for all the families that have lost a family member during war.  In another room, we learned that one of the chairs was from 1750, making it the oldest piece of furniture in the house!  The library’s theme was based on how the woods look in the winter.  The last room we saw had the cutest theme by far, stuffed polar bears and penguins and the tree was decorated with hand-made ornaments from the Boys & Girls Club  of Dane County.  We had so much fun and took so many pictures.  When we finished the tour of the Mansion we all headed to Ella’s Deli.  We had a great time!  It was SO cool.  There are so many little trinkets to look at and the food was amazing.  We all enjoyed our time and meals there.  When we got back from Madison we had to get ready to ride in the Black River Falls Holiday Parade.  It was really fun and everyone was in the Christmas spirit.  It was a little chilly but our robes kept us toasty warm and we even saw a reindeer pulling Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus!  It was a fun event.

On January 7, we all attended the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs Coronation.  We watched 39 women from all over the state of Wisconsin compete for the winning title.  We got a chance to mingle and visit with other guests before the event began.  We enjoyed a nice dinner and then the competition began.  From the 39 contestants ten were selected to choose a card and then answer the question accordingly, then it was time for the judges to make their decision.  While this occurred they handed out awards and recognition to people affiliated with the fair and the best award given was to Bob Williams and the coolest part was that the award is now called the “Bob Williams Award.”  The ten contestants were then brought out and five were selected to answer the question ‘if the Governor was to come to your fair, what is the one thing you would show him and why is that important?’  Finally it was the moment we had been waiting for, and Deann Schlies, from Brown County was chosen the 2015 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair!  We even got our picture taken with Deann after the event.

We had so much fun and are looking forward to what's ahead on our calendar. We can't wait!!!

Yours Truly,
