2016-2017  Warrens Cranberry Festival July Royalty Update

Royal Greetings!

We are excited to share the latest events we've had the opportunity to take part in since last month.

This summer has been very busy!  On June 17th we attended the Remembering Jesse Parker Run in Tomah. Runners and walkers of all ages participated to support this amazing cause. We served cranberry juice during the pancake breakfast and visited with attendees. You could feel the outpouring of love for the Parker family at this event. After the Jesse Parker Run we headed to Oshkosh for the Miss Wisconsin Pageant. It was very interesting to watch the 11 finalists show off their swimwear, talent, and evening gowns. We were excited to witness Christina Weaver, Miss Sparta, receive the Community Service Scholarship Award. Miss Madison Capitol City, McKenna Collins, was crowned the 2017 Miss Wisconsin. It was a very fun experience with all the moms and daughters attending this event together.

On June 18th we left Oshkosh and headed to Wisconsin Rapids for the Cranberry Blossom Parade. Before the parade we visited the zoo and walked through the butterfly garden and chatted with parrots. It was a very nice parade with many friendly spectators.

July 1st we attended the Black River Falls Karner Blue Butterfly Parade and Tea. At the Tea we exchanged buttons and ate lunch with other visiting royalty. We had a great time seeing all the smiles on the little kids faces along the parade route.

July 4th we started our day participating in the Tomah 4th of July Parade. As soon as we were through the parade we quickly packed our float and headed to Ontario for their 4th of July festivities. This was the first time Cranfest has participated in the Ontario Parade. The crowds were very complimentary of our beautiful float. It was a warm and beautiful day, what a wonderful way to celebrate July 4th.

July 8th we headed to the La Crosse Loggers Lumberyard Field to watch a Loggers game. We each had the privilege of throwing out the first pitch. We chose the celebrity home run winner’s section and before the 4th inning we walked the card around the stadium. We were also chosen to participate in the Office Olympics and Queen Mackenzie Won! After the game we were able to take photos with some of the Loggers and watch the fireworks extravaganza over the field. Even though the Loggers didn’t win, it was a great experience.

On July 9th New Lisbon was our destination for their Wa DU Shuda Days Festival. We decorated our float with “Under the Sea” decorations to go along with their parade theme. We attended the Royalty Tea and
enjoyed a light snack followed by a group photo. After the parade we watched the Echoes of Camp Randall performance put on by the UW-Madison Badgers Marching Band. It was a great day for a parade!

We hope you enjoyed our monthly update and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead on our calendar.

2016-2017 Warrens Cranberry Festival June Royalty Update

Royal Greetings! We are excited to share the latest events we’ve had the opportunity to take part in since our last update.

On May 28th we attended the Arcadia Broiler Dairy Days. We started off the day with a Queen’s Tea at the Fire Station. We enjoyed exchanging buttons and stories with other royalty. Following the tea everyone went outdoors  to have a group royalty photo taken. Following the photo it was parade time!! It was a little windy but a very enjoyable parade.

May 29th we were honored to attend the Warrens-Mills Cemetery Memorial Day program in Warrens.  We handed out programs and had the privilege of laying the wreath. A little rain didn't dampen the wonderful
ceremony. After the ceremony we had a delicious chicken dinner served by the Lions at the Log Building. The final stop for the day was the Pine Grove Cemetery in Mather. Nodji Van Wychen was the Mistress of
ceremonies and Princess Stevie sang the National Anthem. Queen Mackenzie and Princess Lindsay read
poems along with the Van Wychen grandchildren. The ceremony concluded with a 21 gun salute and playing of taps. It was a day to reflect and remind us of those who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today.

On June 2nd we attended the kickoff celebration for the 1st Annual Bike Me Fun Ride at Bosshard Park in Sparta. We enjoyed dinner, playing bean bags, ladder golf and enjoyed live music. We had a wonderful
time visiting with other bikers in attendance. A walk along the Bosshard Park Trail allowed for some great photo opportunities. We finished our evening with an ice cream treat at Rudy’s.

Saturday June 3rd we started our day off with a delicious pancake breakfast at the Elroy Commons. After breakfast we headed out on the trail with about 100 others bikers. The weather was beautiful and we had great time interacting with other bikers and enjoying the scenery. It was a great bonding day, 32 miles of biking gives you a lot of time to get to know one another.

Later that night we attended the Miss Sparta and Outstanding Teen  pageant. We enjoyed an  exciting night of competition. We are looking forward to spending our year with the newly crowned Miss Sparta, Erica Ebert and the Outstanding Teen, Emalee Schwarz.

June 9th we attended the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Tomah. After the opening ceremony we participated in a lap with the survivors. Later we served Culver’s custard and played bingo with the attendees. It was a very inspirational evening and it was enjoyable to see the community spirit in Tomah.

On June 11th we attended the Sparta Butterfest Royalty Tea. We enjoyed refreshments and  participated in a group photo of all the royalty in front of Ben Bikin statue. The rain held off  and the sun came out for the
parade . People along the parade were in a very festive mood. We had a good time walking around the fest grounds visiting with friends and members from the Tomah and Sparta communities.

We hope you enjoyed our monthly update and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead on our calendar.

2016-2017 Warrens Cranberry Festival May Royalty Update

Royal Greetings!

We are excited to share the latest events we’ve had the opportunity to take part in since our last update.

On April 28th we attended the Sparta Butterfest Festmaster’s Banquet with Nodji. We enjoyed a lovely meal and many delicious cupcakes. We had a wonderful night with Miss Sparta 2016, Christina Weaver, as we welcomed in the new 2017 Festmaster, David Kuderer.

May 13th we started the morning by attending the Tomah Area Cancer Support Walk at the Fairgrounds at the Tomah Fairgrounds. We had a wonderful time talking with cancer survivors and their families along with other supporters. We also enjoyed a pancake breakfast and had a caricature drawing done.

From there we proceeded on our journey to Lambeau Field in Green Bay for the Alice in Dairyland Coronation. Of course the first thing we did upon our arrival was go shopping in the Pro Shop. We had a chance to see what it feels like to sit in the front row in the stadium. The best part was when the sprinkler system came on while we were taking pictures on the field. We met some wonderful new friends at our table during the
banquet and danced with them after the banquet. The new Alice in Dairyland is Crystal Siemers-Peterman of Cleveland, WI . We’re sure she will be a fantastic Alice as her presentation was on Cranberries!!.

On May 21st  we attended the Westby Syttende Mai festivities. Our day started  out by attending the Queen’s tea. We had the pleasure of taking photos with the other visiting royalty, and the new Syttende Mai Royalty. We were served some really delicious treats at the tea. After the tea we participated in the very, very cold parade. Even though it was cold and cloudy, the people along the parade route were smiling, happy, and very friendly. We had a fantastic time despite the weather.

We hope you enjoyed our monthly update and we’re looking forward to what’s ahead on our calendar.

2016-2017 Warrens Cranberry Festival April Royalty Update

Royal Greetings and Happy Spring!

We are excited to share the latest events we’ve had the opportunity to take part in since our last update.

On April 2, we attended the Westby Syttende Mai Coronation. At this event they also hold a “Grandparent of the Year” contest. Participating students must write a 100 word or less essay explain why their grandparent deserves the tittle of “Grandparent of the Year”. The winner gets to ride in both of their parades along with their grandchild. Each of the contestants are sponsored by one of the area businesses and they wear a unique Norwegian style dress. It was exciting to watch and see who would be crowned the new Westby Syttende Mai Princess and her attendants. We congratulated the newly crowned royalty and took pictures with them. We are looking forward to joining them for their parade in May!

On April 15, We attended the Warrens Easter Breakfast and enjoyed visiting with everyone who attended. It was a good turn out, and the pancake breakfast was delicious. We even had a chance to take pictures with the Easter Bunny, what a great community event! We are all ready for our busy parade season which is approaching very quickly. We hope you enjoyed our update for this month and we look forward to what’s ahead on our calendar.

2016-2017 Warrens Cranberry Festival March Royalty Update

Royal Greetings!

We are excited to share the latest event we had the opportunity to take part in since our last update.

This past month has been pretty quiet for us, we only had one event. On  February 15th Princess Lindsay and Princess Stevie were invited to the Tomah VA to celebrate The Salute To National Veteran Patients Week. The event was close to Valentine’s Day, so they had a giant heart shaped cake decorated in patriotic colors that we served to the veterans. We enjoyed mingling and talking to the veterans afterwards. What a great way to salute our veterans. It was a great time and a wonderful experience for us!

We hope you enjoyed our update for this month and we look forward to what’s ahead on our calendar.

2016-2017 Warrens Cranberry Festival February Royalty Update

Royal Greetings!

We are excited to tell you about our latest adventure. On Friday night, February 3rd Queen Mackenzie and Princess Lindsay attended the Westby Ski Jump. The ski jump is extremely high and there is a wooden staircase leading all the way to the top. It was an amazing night watching the skiers take off and glide through the air and land at the bottom of the jump. Skiers were there from all over the U.S. and other countries including Norway. We even got a chance to snap some pictures with a few of them. We had a wonderful time and were able to visit with the Westby Snowflake Royalty and Sparta Butterfest Royalty. The night was chilly but we were able to keep toasty warm by the huge bonfire.

Later this week we will be visiting the Tomah VA Hospital to celebrate Valentines Day with all the veterans. Time is flying by and we’ve had such an amazing time representing the Warrens Cranberry Festival and sharing our adventures.

2016-2017 Warrens Cranberry Festival January Royalty Update

Royal Greetings and Happy New Year!

Things have been a little quieter for us after the busy holiday season. On December 27th we went shopping for our new formals, we had a wonderful time trying on all the lovely dresses. Cant wait for our dresses to arrive so we can show them off! After picking out our beautiful new gowns Nodji took us all out for dinner.  On January 11th, Stevie, and I were accompanied by our mothers to Wisconsin Dells to watch the Fairest of the Fair coronation. The evening started out with dinner and was followed by the intense competition, how exciting it was to see who was crowned the new Fairest of the Fair. We took some great pictures afterwards with the newly crowned Fairest of the Fair and her predecessor. We also took some great pics with Alice in Dairyland. January 18th Stevie and Lindsay attended WSCGA (Wis. State Cranberry Growers Association) Trade Show and Cranberry School at Stevens Point. Sorry I had to missed this event due to finals week. The princesses enjoyed seeing the different exhibits and visiting with the vendors. We are so proud to represent our wonderful Cranberry Festival at these events.

The next event we will be attending is the Westby Ski Jump on Friday night February 3rd.

2016-2017 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty December Update

Royal Greetings to everyone!

We are excited to share with everyone our latest events we’ve had the opportunity to take part in this past month. We've been busy with the holiday parades and celebrations! We were in the Tomah parade November 25th, and Sparta parade December 2nd. The weather was a little chilly but our long capes helped keep us warm.

On December 10th Lindsay, Stevie and I along with our families traveled to Madison to tour the Governor's Mansion and State Capitol. It was such an exciting and fun day spent with family and royalty sisters!

On December 3rd Stevie and Lindsay did a food demo at the Cranberry Discovery Center. Stevie made Cranberry Sauerkraut Meatballs, and Lindsay made Cranberry Coffee Cake. There was a nice turnout and visitors said our recipes were DELICIOUS!. We’re having a great time enjoying the holidays and promoting the Cranberry Festival on our adventures.

2016-2017 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty November Update

Royal greetings everyone!

We would like to inform everyone about our first coronation. We attended the Westby Snowflake Ski & Golf Club coronation. We watched the 2016 Queen Katie Justin, First Attendant Brynn Cade, and Second Attendant Laura Dunnum hand down their titles to the new royalty. The new Queen is Sharice Elbert, Emily Henchen is the new First Attendant, and Second Attendant is Jessica King. We had a wonderful time congratulating them and wishing them good luck with their upcoming year. We also enjoyed
meeting all of the other royalty from the surrounding area and took  lots of pictures.

On October it was just me, Queen Mackenzie, who traveled to Richland Center for the Color Festival. I was honored to take part in breaking a Guinness World Record for the most carved pumpkins. I had a
wonderful time attending the royalty tea that was put on by Richland Center’s Ambassador. It was a great experience to meet all of the royalty and visit with them about how their year has been going. I was able to get my picture taken with Miss Wisconsin and Wisconsin Fairest of the Fair. We all had an enjoyable day carving lots of pumpkins together.
