2013-2014 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty - June Update

Royal Greetings and Happy June to everyone!

We are super excited to share all the events we have had the opportunity to take part in since our last update.

May 25 - we all went to the Arcadia Broiler Days Parade.  It was our 2nd parade of the summer and it felt like summer too!  It was 87 degrees and the sun was shining, it was so warm and we had a great time waving from our royal float!

May 26 - we all went to the Memorial Day Programs at the Warren Mills and Pine Grove Cemeteries.  We began the day at the Warren Mills Cemetery, where we laid the wreath in a ceremony honoring our nation's veterans.  We also handed out programs there too.  The program was SO nice and everyone did a wonderful job.  Afterwards, we had a delicious chicken-Q lunch served by the Warrens Lions Club.  From there we went to the Pine Grove Cemetery where we gave readings and listened to Nodji's grandchildren read as well.  The entire day was very meaningful and we were honored to be part of such a beautiful and important day!

May 31 - Princesses Sydney and Sommer went to the West Salem June Dairy Days Parade.  We had a great time, the weather was beautiful and met some new people and also saw some familiar faces there too.  It was hot and sunny, a perfect day for a parade!

May 31 - We all attended the Miss Sparta Pageant.  When we arrived they had blocked a section off just for the royalty that attended (that was so cool).  It was fun talking to everyone and meeting new people.  The evening was really fun to watch as all the contestants competed and we were anxious as the new Miss Sparta, Zoe Roo was crowned at the end of the night!  We took lots of pictures and had a great time!

June 7 - we all attended the Monroe County Dairy Breakfast.  We left bright and early for Cashton, WI, the site of this year's dairy breakfast.  It was SO fun!  We waited in line for a long time to get our breakfast and boy was it worth the wait, it was delicious.  After that, we walked around interacting with visitors and then we got to to inside a helicopter and we all went on a horse drawn carriage ride too!  The people were so nice and it was great morning and event.  We really had a good time.

June 8 - we went to the Sparta Butterfest Parade.  Today was so fun!  We started the day out by going to their royalty tea.  The weather was so beautiful and the day was perfect.  It was nice to see those familiar faces on the parade route and it was really fun riding on our float.  We love the parades!

Thanks so much for reading our blog, we will update again next month, speaking of updates this is what is ahead on our schedule.

2013-2014 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty - May Update

Royal Greetings and Happy May!  We are really excited to share the latest events we have taken part in since our last update!

May 10, we all attended the Princess for a Day, event sponsored by Carmichael & Quartemont, of Tomah.  The event is an annual fundraiser for the Monroe County Relay for Life/American Cancer Society.  We wore our dresses for the first time and they look amazing, thank you to the Warrens Cranberry Festival for our gorgeous dresses, we love them!  The event was held at the Cranberry Country Lodge in Tomah.  We all had different duties, Sydney did "pin the jewel on the crown" game, Sommer painted fingernails and Miranda put makeup on all the little girls.  We did so many that soon we got better and better and it was SO fun to interact with all the little princesses (who were also dressed in their formal princess attire too) :)  At the end of the event we took pictures and all the girls walked the "runway" to show off their new look and they danced a special dance routine (that a few professional dancers taught to them) to entertain the crowd!  It was a fun day and we ALL enjoyed ourselves very much!

May 17, we all went to the Alice in Dairyland Coronation, in Clark County, WI.  When we arrived we were able to choose our own seats and by chance and luck we picked seats next to a past Alice in Dairyland, she was SO nice and really an amazing lady!  There were six finalists vying for this year's title.  They were all qualified for the job and had been working and preparing for this moment for a couple of months and by the pictures they showed during the event, it looked like they were having a blast.  Finally, the current Alice gave her farewell speech and we were all on the edge of our seats as Zoey Brooks was crowned the 66th Alice in Dairyland!  We sure wish Zoey good luck in the coming year, she has over 400 future events scheduled!  Wow, what an amazing event and what a good time we all had.

May 18, we all went to the Westby Syttende Mai Parade, in Westby, WI.  It was our first parade of the season and the second time to wear our gorgeous dresses.  It was such a fun parade, the weather was so warm and we proudly waved from our float and invited everyone to join us in September for this year's Festival.

We also went with Nodji this month to purchase our sports outfits.  They are SUPER cute and we are so looking forward to wearing them to the various events that our on our schedule.

Speaking of schedule...here is a sneak peak at what's ahead on our calendar: Arcadia Broiler Days Parade, Memorial Day Programs (Warren Mills and Pine Grove Cemeteries,) West Salem June Dairy Days Parade, Miss Sparta Pageant, Monroe County Dairy Breakfast, Sparta Butterfest Parade, Winona Steamboat Days Parade, Miss Wisconsin Pageant, Wisconsin Rapids Blossom Days Parade, Jesse Parker Run and Cranberry Blossom Days at Wetherby Cranberry Marsh...and that is just the rest of this month and June!

We are SO excited and cannot wait to give our update again next month.

2013-2014 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty - April Update

Happy April and Royal Greetings too!  :)

We have had three fun events that we are excited to share with you since our last update.

On April 9, we all went to the Tomah and Black River Falls Chamber of Commerce's Joint Business After 5, that was held at Three Bears Lodge.  We had a fun time greeting people as they arrived and passing out goodie bags to everyone.  We walked around and visited the different booths, it was fun to see all the different businesses.  The food was delicious and we had so much fun meeting all kinds of new people.

On April 11, we all went to the Sparta Butterfest Festmaster's Ball.  We sat and had a yummy dinner with past Festmaster, Harlan Perry and past Lady Butterfest, Sandie Perry, they were so nice and told us a lot of the history of their event.  We took some pictures with the current Sparta Butterfest Royalty and then the moment finally came for the 2014 Festmaster to be named and this year's recipient is Doug Dengel.  It was a fun night and a very fun event!

On April 19, Miranda and Sommer went to the Warrens Easter Breakfast at the Lions Log Building in Warrens.  We served ice cream to all the little kids that came and when we finished, we had a yummy pancake breakfast and then we went outside to see all the animals that Grandpa Nick's Petting Farm had brought (they were sooo cute too) :)  We got our picture taken with the Easter Bunny too!  It was a fun day and we had a great time spending time with all the little kids!

2013-2014 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty - March Update

Royal greetings to everyone!  We have a couple of events we want to share with you since our last update.

On February 12, Miranda and Sydney attended the Tomah VA for their annual Valentine's celebration in honor of our Nation's Veterans!  We served a huge heart shaped cake to all who came to the event.  It was an awesome opportunity to meet some great people and we thought it was super sweet when some of the patients asked us to be their Valentine.  There was also an art exhibit with creations the patients had made...and we were asked to vote on our favorite piece of artwork.  We even had our picture taken with some of the artists too.  It was such a nice event and we both really enjoyed ourselves.

On March 11, Miranda, Sommer and Sydney all attended the Wisconsin Women in Agriculture Day at the State Capital in Madison.  We left Tomah early in the morning and arrived at the Capital to set up and display our cranberry walnut cookies that we passed out to everyone who visited our area.  We met and talked to so many people and we thought it was amazing how many people said they go to the Warrens Cranberry Festival each year, so that was cool to be able to promote and talk about the Festival.  We also were able to walk around and sample all the different foods that were represented by other organizations too.  Later on we walked around the Capital building and took pictures and spent some time listening to a middle school band that was performing for visitors.   Before we left we took more pictures, in our robes, outside the Capital.  Today was a great opportunity and we met so many women who play a role in the agriculture side of things in our great state of Wisconsin!

We have many fun memories from these two trips and all the others before and we can't wait to update you again next month.

Here is a sneak peak at what's ahead on our calendar:  Warrens Community Easter Breakfast, Princess for a Day and Memorial Day Services at both the Warren Mills and Pine Grove Cemeteries.

2013-2014 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty - February Update

Royal Greetings and Happy February Everyone!

We have two special events that we are super excited to share with all of you.

On January 22, We and royalty mom Lori, all attended the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association's Winter Meeting and Trade Show.  It was a great experience to meet and talk with all the vendors and we learned so much about all the work that goes into growing and selling cranberries.  We enjoyed a delicious lunch and afterward June Potter took us around and introduced us to some of the people that she knows.  Also, it just happened to be June's Birthday, so while we were giving our introductions to the large crowd we asked her to join us on stage and sang Happy Birthday to her too!  We definitely learned a lot and have some fun memories that we will keep forever.

On February 1, Princesses Sommer and Sydney and royalty moms Brandy and Mary Beth all attended the Westby Snowflake Ski Jump, in Westby, WI.  We started the day off at the lodge, where we met lost of other visiting royalty and the Westby Snowflake Royalty and took lots of fun pictures.  After that we (even our moms went with us) started our adventure to the top of the ski jump, climbing almost 400 steps to the top and then back down again.  What a spectacular view it was and something that we will always remember doing!  We met skiers from Finland, Slovenia, Norway and of course the United States too.  We had such a fun time cheering all the skiers on and the best part, they gave everyone small cowbells and each time a skier jumps everyone rings the bells really loud to show support.  We definitely showed our support both by ringing the bells and cheering very loud too.  It was fun to listen to the skiers with their different accents and we took some pictures with them as well.  We had the best time, so much in fact, that we are planning to go back again next year.

2013-2014 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty - January Update

Happy January!

We are super excited to share the latest event we had the opportunity to go to, since our last update.

On January 8, we all went to the Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs Coronation, in Wisconsin Dells at the Chula Vista.  We had a wonderful time meeting and talking to the people at our table.  Some of their daughters were competing for the title of 2014 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs, so it was fun to root their daughters on during the competition.

We had a delicious meal of salad, chicken, green beans, potatoes and they had different things to drink too.  After the dinner was finished the competition started, there were 41 contestants and it began by all them introducing themselves.

Once they were finished the judges picked the top 10 contestants to move on to the next part of the competition.  While the judges were making their decision, the passed out awards and introduced special guests.

The judges revealed their top 10 choices and one of the contestants from our table was selected to move on.  The contestants were then asked a question and each of them answered.

The 2013 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs then gave her final farewell speech and even sang a song for everyone!  They brought all the contestants back to the stage and awarded the Miss Congeniality award.

Finally the moment we had all been waiting for arrived and they revealed the
2014 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs title to Kaitlyn Riley of Crawford County.  Afterward, we got to meet her and take some pictures with her too!  It was a very fun evening and it was really fun to see how a big competition like that occurs.  We wish Kaitlyn luck in her adventure as 2014 Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs!

2013-2014 Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty - December Update

Happy December Everyone!

We are so excited to share all the events we have had the opportunity to take part since our last update.

On November 27, we all went shopping with Nodji and Kyra for our business attire.   We had such a good time trying on different outfits and we found the most perfect outfit with shoes and purses to match.  We can’t wait to wear them at all of our upcoming events.  We are all so grateful to the Festival for all the pretty things.

On November 29, we rode in the Tomah Holiday Parade.  The theme of our float was “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and we and our families worked so hard the past couple of weeks on making it shine and sparkle!  It was nice seeing all the other colorful floats and creative decorations.  We were prepared for the cold weather and used our beautiful robes, they definitely kept us warm!  We had festive music playing as we rode in the parade.  It was fun to see those familiar faces and wave to our friends and family that came out to enjoy the parade.  We really enjoy the parades and can’t wait for the official parade season to start!

On December 5, we all had a very eventful day.  Together with our families, we drove to Madison for the annual Holiday Event at the Governor’s Mansion!  We left Tomah early in the morning and drove to the Capital where we took pictures and had the opportunity to meet Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, how exciting it was to meet her and get our picture taken with her too!  We left there and went to Ella’s Deli for a delicious meal and then we toured the mansion.  It was incredible, everything was so beautiful and we saw a different Christmas tree in each room.  The best part, each tree was decorated with handmade decorations by children from area schools!  They had a school band playing Christmas music and we got our pictures taken and got to talk with some of them.  When we finished the tour we put our robes on and took pictures outside the mansion and then we went back to the Capital and took some more pictures.  We also want to thank Sydney’s dad Hal for waiting in the 10 minute parking so that we could get our photos taken at the Capital building.  It was a fantastic day and we had tons of fun!

On December 6, we had a busy day.  First we went to the Tomah Senior Care Center Rotary Christmas Party.  We served cranberry juice and met so many nice people.  They had a nice party with Christmas Carols, cookies made by the Tomah High School students and gift bags that LaGrange Elementary School made.  It was a fun and rewarding experience to meet so many nice people and see their smiling faces.  That evening we rode in the Sparta Holiday Parade.  It was a fun evening, our lights gave us a bit of trouble but we enjoyed the evening.  We bundled up and were toasty warm in our robes.

On December 7, we all attended the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center Holiday Open House.  We did our food demos and that all went very well.  We had the chance to taste some very delicious recipes too.  We met two women who were from out of town and just passing by and had decided to stop and see Warrens was all about. We talked with them for quite a while and before they left, they made a “cran-man” with us at the craft table.  They tied a ribbon on it and made it into an ornament to take with them.  It’s so nice to meet people and have nice memories to take with us.  We finished the day with a trip to Simply Bridal, where we met Nodji and Kyra and we picked out our formal dresses.  We can’t wait to wear them at future events.

On December 14, Princesses Sommer and Sydney attended the Warrens Community Christmas Party.  We had a great time. We ate a delicious lunch made by the Warrens Lioness and Lions clubs. We frosted sugar cookies with the kids, rode the Jelly Stone Train and even got our picture taken with Santa.  We also made a picture frame to put our pictures with Santa in. It was a lot of fun and we had a blast!

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
