Warrens Cranberry Festival Royalty Update - July 26, 2012

July Greetings Everyone!  We are super excited to share our most recent adventures!

On June 16, we attended the 2012 Miss Wisconsin Pageant, in Oshkosh, WI.  There were 23 contestants from all over the state and the lucky winner was Kate Gorman, she was the recent Miss La Crosse Oktoberfest.  We had a great time at the event and even got our picture taken with Stephanie Klett, WI Secretary of Tourism and Laura Kaeppeler, Miss America!!!

On June 17, we rode in the Winona Steamboat Days Parade and also attended their royalty tea and met their newly crowned royalty.  We had a great time and enjoyed the bright sunshine that blessed us on the parade route.

On June 24, we attended the Wisconsin Rapids Cranberry Blossom Days Parade.  It was a warm day and we had a good time waving to all the visitors.  We even celebrated our Queen's Birthday with a delicious cake.

On June 30, we had an extra busy day!  First we attended the Jesse Parker Memorial Run at the Tomah High School.  We enjoyed a yummy pancake breakfast and served cranberry juice to all the runners/participants.  It was a great event and so nice to see the community all together to remember Jesse.  After the run we traveled to Wetherby Cranberry Marsh for their annual Blossom Days celebration.  We did food demos of recipes that contained our state fruit, the cranberry!  After learning about the blossoms we went to the WI Cranberry Discovery Center where we made crafts with all the children.  We also enjoyed a cranberry brat and had ice cream too!  Our last stop of the day was visiting the artisans at the Wetherby Stone Building.

On July 4, we participated in the Tomah 4th of July Parade.  We decorated the float with flags and lots of decorations.  It was a hot day but we enjoyed ourselves and stayed cool atop the float.

On July 8, we rode in the Wa DA Shuda Days Parade.  They had a Hawaiian theme this year and we wore leis and had pink flamingos on our float!  We even got our caricature drawing done and we were fortunate enough to get our picture taken with the new 2012 Miss Wisconsin, Kate Gorman.

We are having such a good time, making memories that will last a lifetime!  We will be back again soon with more experiences to share.  If you would like to see more pictures from our latest adventures, check out our website www.cranfest.com or our Facebook page.

Warrens Cranberry Royalty Update - June 15, 2012

Royal Greetings Everyone! We are super excited to share all the events we have been fortunate enough to have participated in!!!

On May 19, we attended the 2012 Alice in Dairyland Event, in Platteville, WI.  There were five finalists, who all did a great job promoting their industries.  Rochelle Ripp was crowned the 2012 Alice and we were lucky to be on of the first people to get our picture taken with her.  (On a side note, we were very excited to see a picture of us at the 2011 Festival with Katie Wirkus, the 2011 Alice in her farewell slideshow.)  The very next day, May 20, we headed to Westby, WI, for their annual Syttende Mai Parade.  It was a windy, warm day and the rain that was in the forecast held out, and had a blast waving to all the little kids.  We enjoyed their royalty tea a lot, the food was great and we had a group picture taken with all the other royalty too.

On May 28, we attended two Memorial Day Events.  The first took place at the Warren Mills Cemetery and we handed out brochures and placed the wreath during the ceremony.  Afterwards we at a delicious chicken dinner at the Warrens Lions Log Building.  From there we traveled to Pine Grove Cemetery in Mather, WI for their ceremony, where we each read a poem.  It was truly special to be part of two events that honored our Veterans.

On June 2, we were really busy.  First thing in that morning we attended the Monroe County Dairy Breakfast, near Cashton, WI.  We served 1,000 cups of cranberry juice to the visitors, enjoyed a great breakfast, walked around visiting with the other booths and of course took some time to play with all the cute little animals.  We even had an interview with Cow97 radio station.  We left the breakfast and headed straight to West Salem, WI, for their June Dairy Days Parade.  It was a beautiful day and we used our parasols for the very first time.  It was a great parade and we had fun at their event.  We ended the evening by attending the Miss Sparta Pageant.  It was a fun event to watch.  Their were five contestants competing in their fairy tale themed event.  Molly Sullivan was crowned 2012 Miss Sparta, Rebecca Guldenaar won 1st Attendant and Autumn Freeman won 2nd Attendant.  After the pageant we attended a reception in their honor at The Greens.

June 6, Chelsie and Courtney attended the Sparta Butterfest Royalty Italian Dinner in the park.    We were served a spaghetti dinner and we visited with the newly crowned royalty.  After dinner we sat and listened to the band Studebaker perform.

We attended the Monroe County Relay For Life on June 8.  We sold raffle tickets and passed out programs.  We enjoyed watching the opening ceremony and listening as June Potter, Honorary Chair,  shared her experiences with Cancer.  We walked the track and visited with people along the way.  It was a nice event and we were grateful to have been part of such a worthwhile cause.

On June 10, we attended the Sparta Butterfest Parade.  Before the parade started we attended their Royalty Tea.  It was fun visiting with all the other visiting royalty and we got our picture taken by the Ben Bikin' statue in Sparta, WI.  The parade was fun and we had a great time waving to all of the visitors.

That is it for now, but we will be back with more experiences to share next month.    If you want to see a full array of our latest pictures visit our Facebook page or the Festival's website.  www.cranfest.com

Royal greetings to everyone!

We are excited to share our latest events that we were fortunate enough to have taken part in. On March 10th, we all attended the Make, Bake & Take class which was held at the WI Cranberry Discovery Center in Warrens. We learned how to make cranberry kringles and the best part was learning a new recipe and getting to take home our yummy creation for all of our family members to enjoy!

On March 13th, we all attended the Woman In Ag Day, in Madison, WI. We represented Wisconsin's state fruit, the cranberry and also the Warrens Cranberry Festival at the event. We handed out cranberry cookies that had sweetened dried cranberries baked right in them. We met a variety of people including, Jennifer Schilling and Matt Hinkel (who is a Warrens, WI native). We had a great time and really enjoyed all of the great products that were displayed at the event.

January Royalty Update

Happy January & Happy New Year Everyone!

We have been keeping quite busy this month. On January 10th, we attended the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association's Winter meeting at the Holiday Inn & Convention Center, in Stevens Point, WI. We really enjoyed walking around and visiting with the vendors. We had a great meal and and ate cranberry bars for dessert! After lunch, we attended the meeting and introduced ourselves and told the audience about the events we have been attending and those that are in our future too. On January 11th, we attended the 2012 WI Fairest of the Fairs banquet and coronation, at the Chula Vista Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI. This year's theme was "Preserving the Past, Embracing the Future". We enjoyed a delicious meal and visited with other guests at our table that were relatives of Miss Racine, who was actually crowned the winner that very night! There were 37 girls competing for the title and it was a very tough decision to be made by the judges. Finally, after many awards were presented to the different counties, it was announced that Richelle Kastenson, of Racine, WI was the 2012 Fairest of the Fairs! We had the opportunity to meet her after the banquet and posed for some pictures with her too. We really had a great time!

Be sure to check back again next month for the February update.

December Greetings from the 2011-2012 Cranberry Royalty

December Greetings!

December is almost to its close and what a busy month it has been. On December 2nd, we attend the Sparta Holiday Parade and took part in the 4th parade of our royal reign. It was cold and we stayed warm with our ear muffs and really loved hearing all of the children remark on our float and the spinning present. On December 3rd, we demonstrated cranberry inspired recipes at the Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center and we were even interviewed by the Tomah Journal, our local newspaper. On December 10th, Princesses, Courtney and Grace, attended the Warrens Community Christmas/Hope for the Holidays, we helped children make crafts, decorate cookies and even had our picture taken with that famous guy in the red suit and white beard! On December 14th, we visited the Governor's Mansion for the annual holiday visit. We got a tour of the mansion and learned what each room is used for. The mansion is very impressive and beautiful. We are also very proud to say that our float has received two awards recently the "Santa's Favorite" for participation in the Sparta Holiday Parade and 1st Place in the TACC Holiday Parade. Very cool! We worked very hard on the float and it is nice to see our efforts being rewarded so nicely. Check back again next month for the first official update of 2012!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
