Have you ever wondered how they plant cranberries? Well, yesterday I had the opportunity to learn while visiting the Larry Rezin Marsh just outside Warrens. I was driving by on my lunch break when I notice a bunch of workers taking a break by a new cranberry bed. I stopped my car and found out they were planting new cranberry vines! How exciting!! The process is very thought-out and well organized! Everyone had a job and everyone was needed. The cranberry planter has 9 seats in which men and women sit with cranberry vines in their laps. A big tractor pulls them and they plant cranberries one by one. It will take 3 years before a harvest and 5 years before a full harvest. Patience is one of the keys in growing cranberries, along with a lot of water and care!
Thanks for your support! Have a "berry" great day! Enjoy some pictures!
