We are very excited to tell everyone about our latest adventure. On December 16, 2010, we went to the Governor's Mansion for the Annual Holiday Tea in Madison, Wisconsin. During the visit we were able to see six decorated trees that were on display throughout the main level of the Mansion. All of the trees were decorated by theme, which included a Holiday Hospitality Tree, which had an ornament from each of the 72 counties. There was also a Tribute To Our Troops Tree, which displayed ornaments made by friends and families in honor of their loved ones who are serving in the military. The Boughs of Books Tree was decorated by a group of fourth graders that represented a favorite book of theirs. The Tree Of Tomorrow is a tribute to some of Wisconsin's agricultural, environmental and business companies that strengthen our State's future. The Joyeux Noel Tree celebrates Wisconsin's French heritage and The Spirit Of Giving Tree symbolized the generous and valuable work of the many charitable organizations in our State.
We were very honored to be greeted at the Tribute To Troops Tree, by First Lady, Jessica Doyle. First Lady Doyle, was nice enough to visit with all of us and get a picture taken too! We were also entertained by the Marshall High School Chamber Singers, which was very impressive. They sang a variety of Christmas Carols in the main entrance of the Mansion. It was truly a wonderful experience. This week is pretty quiet and we are anxious to celebrate Christmas with our families.
Thanks to all of you who read our blog each week, we are having fun sharing our experiences with everyone. We all want to wish you and your families a very safe and happy Holiday Season!
