Warrens Elementary

On June 8 th, I was back in Warrens at the Elementary School where I did my cranberry presentation to the over 115 students! It was so special to be back in cranberry country doing a presentation which started in Warrens! You never know, maybe I spoke to a future cranberry Princess or Queen!! During the months of February, March, April, May and June, I've visited schools and libraries in Warrens, Tomah, Sparta, Ontario, Wilton, Norwalk, Mauston, Westby, Viroqua, and West Salem. I've read Clarence, the Cranberry Who Couldn't Bounce, story and illustrations by Jim Coogan, to the children, parents and teachers, and then donated it to each library or school. Then I showed cranberry items including many products and information about growing, harvesting, nutrition, and the biggest cranberry festival in the world, the Warrens Cranberry Festival. Clarence the Bouncing Cranberry also paid a visit to the children at many of these events, and we concluded with some taste testing of cranberry juice and dried cranberries for a snack. Everyone received a Cranberry Fun Activity book filled with coloring pages, word searches, and recipes! Thank you again to Cranfest and everyone for supporting me!

Thanks for your support! Have a "berry" great day! Enjoy some pictures!

Deep in Cranberries,

Rachel Reeck, 2008-2009 Cranberry Queen
