WSCGA Golf Outing
On June 24 th, we attended the 19 th Annual Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association "Cranberry Open" Fundraiser at the Lake Arrowhead Lakes Course in Rome, WI. It was sunny with a high of 99 degrees as we watched the teams battle to win the 2010 Toyota Tundra. Nodji Van Wychen and I sat under a shade tree and encouraged the teams and gave them "tips" while the two princesses sat at the end of hole 13 to witness the winning swing. This was a great way to meet many cranberry growers along with people who play an important part to the cranberry industry. As the last team of the day came to hole 13, I was able to try my hand at golfing for the first time in my life. With concentration and a few great tips, I hit my first golf ball, and-- although I didn't come home with a new truck--I had a wonderful time! After the golf outing, we attended the Steak Fry and Awards Program. Thank you to the WSCGA for letting us come and participate.
